First Aid Essentials
Minor Cuts & Scrapes
Clean the wound with mild soap and water. Apply an antibiotic ointment and cover with a sterile bandage. Change the dressing daily or if it becomes wet or dirty.
Minor Burns
Immediately cool the burn with cool (not cold) running water for about 10 minutes. Cover loosely with a sterile gauze bandage. Do not use ice or butter.
Insect Bites & Stings
Move to a safe area. If the stinger remains, gently scrape it out with a flat-edged object. Wash the area, apply a cold pack, and take an antihistamine if needed.
